Computational film history

Tomorrow I am giving a keynote at the conference “Cinema audiences and film programming at the Northern periphery, 1930-1950s. Sources, methods, and tools” at the University of Copenhagen. My talk will indeed be more about methods and tools than actual results. It is entitled: Doing New Film History – On Computer Vision & Topic Models of Swedish Film Culture in the 1930s, and I will talk about two of the research projects I am leading – one around audiovisual media and the other around text. Both project revolve around the issue on how to increase the scholarly capacity of media historical sources. As always there is a bunch of slides, 110 this time.
